Join Mushi Harush for Deep Energy, a 45-minute deep water aerobic workout that targets both cardio and muscular endurance. This deep water workout targets five fitness goals, including muscle endurance for upper, lower body and core, as well as skill training for speed and power. A flotation belt is required, but there is no additional equipment needed.  This pool workout utilizes the water’s resistance.

Originally called Deep Five, Mushi developed this program a while back and it has consistently been one of her most popular deep water classes. Originally from Argentina, she now lives and works in Israel. Mushi is the founder of the Israeli Aquatic Exercise Center and an international training specialist for the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA).

DEEP ENERGY: WORKOUT-AT-A-GLANCE
This 45-minute deep water workout includes a warm-up, cool down and 6 exercise segments. Each of the exercise segments targets five different fitness goals, including muscular endurance for upper body, lower body and core. The skill-related fitness principles of speed and power are also trained.
Each of the 6 exercise segments is 4:30 minutes and includes an exercise for each of the five fitness goals.
1. Speed – 30 seconds
2. Lower Body – 1 minute
3. Upper body – 1 minute
4. Core – 1 minute
5. Power – 1 minute
A deep water flotation is required in deep water fitness activities. First and foremost, the belt is required for safety reasons. However, the belt plays a critical role in obtaining intended fitness results in a deep water workout. The belt provides neutral buoyancy on the waist, which frees up the arms to perform powerfully and aerobically in the workout. Without the belt, the arms would be sculling, and the legs would be treading to keep your body vertical and aligned. Watch the video below to better understand the importance of a flotation belt in deep water exercise.
