Total Body Pool Blast

Short on time?  USA Aqua Expert, Stephanie Thielen shares a complete workout that moves quickly from one exercise to the next, training the entire body in just 10 exercises.  This 30-minute express training burns calories and tones muscles against the water’s resistance.

Aqua Body Blast was designed for people on the go and uses a simple approach to achieve fitness results.   The pace moves quickly through 10 exercises that are designed to target the major muscle groups of the body while keeping the heart rate up.  The video/audio workout includes a warm-up and cool down/stretch.

The major muscle groups targeted in the 10 exercises include chest, back, legs, biceps, triceps and core.  A couple of the exercises are devoted to cardio.   Each exercise/body part is performed for 90 seconds and followed by 30 seconds of brisk running or water walking.  The running/walking in between exercises ensures that the overall workout will feel like a heart pumping, calorie burning, body-blast.

Stephanie does not use any equipment in the video, however webbed gloves could very easily be used to create additional resistance.  Hand held equipment should be avoided, as this workout was NOT designed for hand held equipment.  Keep in mind, when no equipment is used or when drag equipment, such as gloves are used, muscles are worked in pairs.  Exercising in submerged resistance means that drag forces and the water’s viscosity resist all of your movements.   And that means that muscles on both sides of a joint are targeted, which helps ensure muscle balance.  It is strongly recommended that you do a variety of workouts in the pool, some with equipment and some without.

Enjoy Aqua Body Blast!   Please share your feedback regarding this workout below or under the video.
