High intensity Waves

Tsunami Warning! Stephanie Newberry is back with another fast-paced AquaGym Fitness interval workout. Tsunami 6 features six high intensity exercise segments (waves), each timed for 6 minutes with ladder timing (:10 :20 :30 :40 :50 :60 :50 :40 :30 :20 :10).  Deep or shallow, get ready for some big waves and big results.

AquaGym Fitness (AGF) and Stephanie Newberry have shared many of their favorite high intensity interval classes with Poolfit subscribers. Their trademark is all about delivering easy-to-follow, but challenging workouts that require minimal thinking but maximum effort.

Filming Tsunammi 6, a 50-minute high intensit cardio pool workout that is now streaming on the Poolfit app.

The Tsunami Effect 
The inspiration for this workout is the ladder timing of each exercise segment. Ladder timing starts out with shorter timed intervals, progresses to longer timed intervals, and then regresses back to shorter timed intervals. Each of the six exercise segments is timed for 6 minutes as follows: :10 :20 :30 :40 :50 :60 :50 :40 :30 :20 :10. The timing resembles a wave that builds, peaks and then recedes. For this reason, the term “tsunami” was used in the title of the video.

Exercise Selection for the Waves
The exercises for each of the six waves in this workout were carefully selected and thus provides a theme for the individual waves. For example, one wave is all about cross country ski variations, another wave is about kick variations, and another wave, the most challenging wave is all about jumping and suspended shoot moves.

Deep or Shallow
Tsunami 6 is a dual depth workout, which means it can be performed in both deep and shallow water. Many of the workouts designed for Poolfit are dual depth because it provides subscribers with the ability to perform the workout in the depth they prefer or have access to.

Poolfit extends a big thank you to Stephanie for once again making the trip from the Jacksonville area over to Sarasota for filming.
