Holiday or Anytime Pool Workout

Tuesday, November 28 2023

AquaGym Fitness™ and Stephanie Newberry are back with a sequel to their brilliant 2021 original water exercise video, The 12 Moves of Fitness. Subscribers loved this pool workout and so we filmed 12 MORE moves. Performed in deep or shallow water, the 12 water exercises in this routine are added on with progressive repetitions that follow the structure of the song, The 12 Days of Christmas. Two editions were created for this workout. The holiday edition can be enjoyed in December because it was filmed with royalty-free holiday music. The regular edition was filmed with non-holiday music and can be done anytime of the year.

Unlike most AquaGym Fitness workouts, this water fitness video is based on repetitions rather than timed intervals. The first move of fitness is performed for one minute and that is the only exercise that is timed. After the first move, all other eleven exercises are performed for the number of repetitions that correspond to the numerical sequence. For example, the third move is performed for three repetitions and the ninth move is performed for nine repetitions. It doesn’t sound like much, but the twist here is that all of the preceding exercises and repetitions accumulate as the routine progresses, just like the Christmas presents accumulate in the popular holiday song.

Repetition based workouts are performed at a pace that is suitable for the fitness level of the participant. If performing this workout by yourself in the pool, it will be tempting to try and keep up with Eliza and myself in the pool. There is nothing wrong with a little friendly competition and motivation, however it is important to work within your own means. If you get behind, simply shave off a few repetitions if needed to keep up with the flow of the video. The 12 Moves of Fitness has become a tradition in AquaGym Fitness classes. “Our clients know they will see this workout in the month of December, and more than once,” says AquaGym Fitness Founder, Stephanie Newberry. According to Stephanie, class members often groan when this template is announced because they know they are going to work hard. Watch Stephanie talk more about the 12 Moves of Fitness as seen in the original video blog.

Holiday music was purposely left out of the original video and the regular edition of the sequel so that subscribers can do these workouts at any time of the year. However, we thought it would be fun to procure some royalty-free holiday music and make a holiday edition that can be enjoyed in December.

Heading into the holiday season, the 12 More Moves of Fitness is the perfect workout to keep you fit, active and burning calories. Likewise, consider keeping the regular edition of this pool workout in your Favorites and go back to it all year long. Poolfit extends a big thank you to Stephanie for giving us a sequel to a subscriber favorite. If you like this pool workout video, let us know by posting a comment below the blog or video.
