The perception of water exercise is often that it is strictly for seniors and not overly challenging. S’WET creator, Jenni Lynn Patterson-LaCour is fully invested in changing that perception and her latest video proves it. Challenge Accepted is a 60-minute high intensity cardio and strength pool workout that can be performed in both deep and shallow water.
A popular Poolfit instructor, Jenni Lynn has been filming for Fitmotivation Inc since 2015. S’WET Challenge was filmed for Fitmotivation, the instructor site, in 2017 and as per usual, I was the student in her video. As she prepared to return for more filming in summer 2025, she asked if I had any requests. I did. I told her to do a remake of S’WET Boot Camp, which was her first breakout video in 2015. Last month, S’WET Boot Camp 2 was posted. Additionally, I requested her to do a remake of S’WET Challenge so that Poolfit subscribers could also accept the challenge. I loved being the student in that 2017 video and the challenge was for real. What makes this video stand out? Variety and choices.
Challenge Accepted: Workout-at-a-Glance
This 60-minute water exercise video includes a warm-up, cool down and eight exercise segments. As mentioned above, this is a dual depth workout and can be performed in both deep and shallow water.
BASE CAMP BURN
This portion of the video is 20 minutes and includes segments 2 and 3. Five base moves are featured: Skis, Jacks, Kicks, Jogs and Twists. Four challenging exercise variations are presented for each base move. Each variation is done 1 minute each for maximal cardio endurance.
RAPID FIRE ROUNDS
Get ready for a surprise twist in segment 4. The participant gets to accept the challenge and choose their favorite variation from each of the five base moves and perform it for 45 seconds each, followed by 15 seconds of rest before moving to the next variation.
GEAR UP & GO
This portion includes segments 5, 6, 7 & 8. The four segments each feature four exercises using different equipment: foam dumbbells, webbed gloves, pool noodles and Aqualogix Drag Bells. Important! If you do not have the equipment, you simply do the exercises without. Don’t skip this great workout thinking you can’t do it without the equipment, because you can. The water’s resistance is plenty.
THE FINISHER
Similar to the Rapid Fire Rounds, the participant gets to choose their favorite piece of equipment and the exercises that went with it.
Poolfit extends a big thank you to Jenni Lynn for sharing yet another challenging and fun pool workout. Check out her full library of Poolfit videos and stay tuned for two more videos with her this fall.
