Get ready to SWET and WERK! Join Jenni Lynn for 30 minutes of challenging water fitness that includes wall exercises, strength moves and Tabata rounds. Water Werk showcases S’WET ™ Fitness’s unique style and signature moves. Get focused and get strong werking the water’s resistance.
Keen on developing a 30-minute format, Water Werk is a condensed version of some of Jenni Lynn’s favorite formats and moves that she incorporates into her one-hour classes. “Targeting strength and cardio stamina are high on my favorite list because doing so gets the water warm quickly and makes the muscles S’WET,” exclaims Jenni Lynn.
Jenni Lynn leads this workout from deck while her husband, Chris, follows along as the student. Water Werk includes a warm-up, a cool down and four exercise segments. Those segments include wall exercises, strength & power and two Tabata rounds. Jenni Lynn wanted to simplify the exercise experience by skipping equipment and providing a fitness challenge with just the water’s resistance. However, webbed gloves can be used to create extra resistance.
Exercising at the pool wall is a common theme in many S’WET Fitness workouts. Why? According to Jenni Lynn, the concept of wall exercises originally started as a strategy to control chatter in her classes. “Whenever I gave my students water breaks or asked them to retrieve their equipment at the pool wall, it seemed like I would lose control of the class once they started chatting each other up at the wall,” says Jenni Lynn. In her efforts to regain control of her classes, Jenni Lynn started using the trips to the pool wall for water and equipment as opportunities to exercise, rather than chat. And thus, wall werk became a thing in S’WET classes. WATCH Jenni Lynn talk more about her use of the pool wall.
