Exercising in deep water means zero gravity and zero impact.  If you gave up jogging because it hurts, the good news is that you can sprint as hard and as fast as you want in deep water.  Deep water fitness with a flotation belt is a popular way to burn calories and get fit.  PoolFit includes several deep-water workout videos that provide an athletic challenge with no joint impact. 

Injury is the biggest obstacle to maintaining regular exercise as we age.  Physically active people become frustrated by what seems like a never-ending cycle of injuries that limits their fitness activities.  Don’t get frustrated, get in the water.  The upward forces of buoyancy will eliminate most impact in shallow water exercise, but not all.  Deep water will eliminate ALL impact because there is no contact with the pool floor.

Some people prefer to exercise in deep water only due to injury or joint impact concerns.   Several subscribers have asked me which videos include only deep water exercise.  PoolFit is new and does not yet have categories or filtering.  We apologize as this can become overwhelming with over 75 videos.  The tech team is currently working on the android version of the app.  By late fall 2020, they will then turn their attention to special features, including search, filtering and categories. 

In the meantime, I have compiled a list of deep water workouts currently streaming on the Pool website and app, as well as those workouts can mostly be performed in deep water with minor modifications.
